Color Schemes for a Winter Mountain Wedding

Winter weddings are becoming more popular as couples look to enjoy a less-hectic wedding planning process. Of course, up in the mountains, they’ve always been popular! If you want to have a traditional wedding in a stunning location, then a winter wedding with a unique color scheme is the way to go. According to a survey conducted by The Knot in 2022, 95% of married couples exchange rings. This tradition is one that’s lovely no matter your wedding location or color scheme! Let’s explore some wonderful colors that are perfect for a winter wedding.

Winter Whites

Winter weddings and winter white color schemes go together perfectly. The off-white of this shade is a perfect fit for snowy backgrounds. It also lends itself well to accent and complementary colors, like cranberry and pine, for a true mountain feel. A more subtle color scheme can include ice blue and pale green. Winter white is a color choice that gives you a lot of room to add other interesting visual features to your wedding decor.

Pale Pinks and Silver

A winter wedding in the mountains is typically focused on snowy backdrops and traditional winter themes. Pale shades of your favorite colors will photograph incredibly well. Two of our favorites are pale pink and silver. You’ll look modern while also appreciating the natural surroundings of your wedding locale. Silver is one of the best colors to add to a winter wedding palette as it adds a lot of visual interest and depth.

Bold Blues and Greens

In the other direction, are the bold colors that many people are drawn to in winter months. In addition to bright cranberry, bold blues, and greens are wonderful choices. Consider how you want your photographs to look and go from there. With so much snowy white in the backdrops of your photos, bold colors will stand out. Raspberry is another perfect color for a winter wedding color scheme. Your on-site wedding planner will be able to share photo galleries of past weddings to give you some real-world examples from other mountainside weddings.
