After months of planning, you are down to the last few days. Your first big pre-wedding activity is definitely the rehearsal. According to The Knot, there were about 2,600,000 wedding conducted in 2022. Each wedding will be different, but if you are having a rehearsal, you need to make sure that it runs smoothly and accomplishes your goal of getting everyone on the same page for the big day. This quick guide will provide you with some tips on how to plan and execute this pre-wedding step.
Rehearsal Location
If you are using a luxury wedding venue, you will probably have rehearsal time scheduled for your booking. When you can rehearse at the wedding venue, it really takes a lot of guesswork out of the arrangements. However, not everyone has the use of their venue for a rehearsal. If that’s the case, then you will want to pick an alternate location for the rehearsal. Try to set things up as close as possible to the way they will look and be set up on the day of the wedding. If there are any big differences, make sure you note these to your wedding party, so that everyone is on the same page.
Who Should You Invite?
There is sometimes quite a bit of controversy over who to invite to the rehearsal. This can really become an issue if you are also planning a rehearsal dinner, which most couples do. If you are trying to keep the number of people involved in the dinner down to a minimum, then you will need to keep the number of people coming to the rehearsal to a minimum as well.
Usually, you would only invite the people who are immediately involved in the wedding. This would include the bridal party, both sets of parents, the officiant, and perhaps the musicians involved.
How Long Will Rehearsal Take?
Most rehearsals will take an hour or longer. This depends on how much of the wedding you will actually run through and how much you will just touch on. Check in with the guests closed to the wedding party to get a better idea of a timeframe.
